During this part of the book we see Celie not believing in God. She's starting to not care anymore for what's going on with her due to the fact that she feels as if he never listens to her. We then start to see the way Shug feels about God. She actually in the other hand believes in him and believes that everyone feels the same way in their own way. Celie also writes a speech to Mr. ___ where she explains how she feels. She doesn't seem to hate him anymore even after everything he's done to her. They actually start to begin a relationship and talk about the old memories. As soon as Celie inherits her family's wealth she starts becoming independent. In the final letter that Celie writes, she begins to feel more confident about herself. In her last letter she starts actually believing in God in her own way. She ends up being more happy due to the fact that she actually overcame the heartbreak with Shug. She's a whole different person now.

I really, really liked this book. It was so emotional and I like how Alice Walker used so much emotion. It was like if you could actually feel Celie's pain throughout everything. She was so detailed about everything which caused for us to have great imagery. My favorite part was the ending where Celie begins to overcome the heartbreak with Shug and she starts becoming more independent. This was a great book and I would re-read it again for the second time. I would recommend it to others because it's very interesting to read. It's detailed, interesting and it was so much emotion in it. I loved, "The Color Purple."
